Amazon hosts annual picnic in Seattle
This weekend, Amazon hosted its annual picnic for Seattle-based employees and their families. The nearly 40,000 attendees enjoyed a wide-range of camp-themed family fun – including a science fair with robotics from Amazon Web Services, live musical performances from Amazon original artists, a giant Lego build, hula hoop lessons, field goal kicks through the Seahawks’ uprights at CenturyLink Field and more.
A few fun details about the food consumed by Amazonians and their families at the event:
- 990 lbs of lemons for lemonade;
- 5,000 lbs of Beecher's mac and cheese; and
- 5,000 lbs of fruit, plus thousands of bananas from the Banana Stand.
Amazon has tens of thousands of employees in Seattle and is the largest private employer in the city, and the picnic included events and activities inspired by our peculiar culture. Check out some pictures from this weekend.
