Amazon earns perfect score from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation
Today, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation announced its annual Corporate Equality Index, a national benchmarking tool on corporate policies and practices affecting lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employees.
Amazon scored perfectly on the index, making Amazon one of the best places to work for LGBTQ equality. Since Amazon’s earliest days, we’ve strongly supported LGBTQ rights – glamazon first formed in 1999, and the company was an early supporter of marriage equality and trans rights.
Earlier this month Jeff Bezos accepted the Equality Award at the HRC’s National Dinner and shared the following, "Every Amazonian should feel comfortable sharing their unique perspectives and every Amazonian should seek out the perspectives of others. We want our employees – and the communities where we operate – to embrace that we’re all human, we’re all different, and we’re all equal."
We’re proud that our commitment to equality has continued to grow through our dozens of glamazon chapters and our worldwide Pride celebrations. This year, we also launched a new collection of resources designed to help our transgender colleagues transition in the workplace, and empower their teams with important information and tools to support them.
