American Business Women’s Day was September 22, a day in which we honor and reflect on the contributions and accomplishments of the millions of women in the workforce and women business owners across the U.S.

Amazon has partnered with many women-owned businesses that sell on our site and utilize services like Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA), Amazon Exclusives, and Handmade at Amazon to drive their businesses forward. Here are a few of their stories.

Kristin Rae
The owner of Inspire International, an independent, woman-founded brand of travel bags that launched in 2013 from an idea on a napkin sketch. The Inspire Travel Luggage signature collection is an alternative to other toiletry bags, equipped with a patent-pending removable leak-proof core that’s easy to clean. Kristin lives in Normal, Illinois, and her business on Amazon has enabled her to leverage her fashion design degree in a rural town and be a stay-at-home mom to two little ones.

Sejal Parag
After eight years planning events for an education nonprofit, Sejal Parag decided to make a career change. While shopping for candles, she found a lack of affordable, premium, eco-friendly candles. She decided to create her own using sustainable resources with ethically-harvested ingredients. Based in Denver, Colorado, Sejal owns KarmaLit, and has been selling her candles on Handmade at Amazon since 2015.

Caron Proschan
Caron Proschan, a Harvard graduate, founded Simply Gum because she was constantly looking for a gum that was both natural and delicious. With the help of some friends, Caron created a line of chewing gum and breath mints that reflect their core values: real ingredients, delicious flavors and beautiful packaging. Simply Gum is sold on Amazon.com, and Caron used deals on Prime Day as a way to reach new customers and differentiate Simply Gum.

Marcia Ricchiuti
Kahili Creations handmade jewelry reaches a global marketplace through Handmade at Amazon. Marcia is now a featured artisan on the Handmade Wedding Shop. By also using Fulfillment by Amazon, her products are eligible for two-day shipping, reaching millions of Prime customers. Marcia works at her own pace and loves to spend time exploring Big Island, Hawaii, where she lives.
